InterGlobe Technologies Opens Bogotá Office, Where It Will Provide Customer Service to Priceline.com, Travel Firms
IT and business process outsourcing services provider InterGlobe Technologies has opened a new center in Bogotá that is starting out with around 200 workers who will offer services for popular airfare and travel search site Priceline.com, among other clients.
The office, which is the Indian company’s first in Colombia and 15th location worldwide, will specialize in providing customer service and reservation management for travel-focused firms, including Priceline’s air, hotel, and car rental services.
It expects to deliver services in multiple languages from this locations, which it has characterized as the Gurgaon-based company’s “strategic LatAm center.” InterGlobe Technologies envisions its Bogotá office as key to expanding its “nearshore” strategy to work in the same time zone as U.S. companies that prefer the proximity and cultural similarity benefits of Latin American centers rather than traditional “offshore” locations in India, the Philippines, and other faraway Asian nations.
Vipul Doshi, CEO of InterGlobe Technologies (IGT), called the launch “a very logical extension of our global network” as a service provider.
“Europe and LATAM are key regions to our business,” said Doshi. “We serve some of the largest airlines and travel companies here, and our decision to increase investment is to provide more transformational efficiencies and nearshore options to our clients. It’s an exciting new chapter for IGT.”
