Originally Viva Colombia, Viva Air Rebrands As “VIVA;” With Growth, The Airline Seeks To Connect The Americas & Caribbean
Colombian low- cost airline Viva is launching its renewed brand and accompanying growth plans, including the expected opening of 15 new international routes in the next three years. These will allow travelers to travel throughout North America, South America, and The Caribbean with a network of new destinations that will range from Buenos Aires in the south to New York In the North; with its Medellín HQ serving as the hemispheric hub.
Along with announcement of its growth plans, the airline is unveiling new branding as it seeks to continue transforming air transportation in the region, with the youngest fleet in Colombia and the third youngest in South America. Starting today, the company will cease to be ‘Viva Air’, and now be called simply ‘Viva.’
“Firm with our promise to promote air inclusion, by allowing Colombians to fly more thanks to the benefits of the Low-Cost model, we announce the launch of our renewed brand that will now be just Viva. This change represents the next step for our airline and the commitment to all Colombians so that they can fly more, and to more destinations, paying less,” said Félix Antelo, President & CEO of the group (above photo).
In its commitment to air inclusivity, Viva is announcing that in the next three years it expects to open 15 new international routes.
Antelo also added that: “Almost nine years ago we were born as an airline determined to transform air transportation in Colombia. Today we can say that thanks to the committed work and trust of millions of Colombians, Viva projects a prominent future, in which we will continue with our expansion plans in the domestic and international markets. Our commitment to invigorate the aviation sector in the country is stronger than ever.”
Despite the ongoing pandemic, Viva has added four new international routes to its network this year: Cancun-Medellín, Mexico City-Medellín, Orlando-Medellín and Mexico City-Bogotá. With this launch, Viva doubles its international offering.
Viva recently made Medellín and its José María Córdova International Airport in the suburb of Rionegro its official center of operations, promising to turn the capital of Antioquia, Colombia into the new axis of the continent’s air connections. This provides unique opportunities for connectivity and savings to travelers, by connecting all of the Americas at competitive prices.
As part of the launch of its new image and with the aim of contributing to the economic reactivation of the country, Viva has announced a launch promotion for its travelers, with tickets on sale from today on the website of the airline https://www.vivaair.com with launch prices as low as $116 USD to international destinations.
