Copa Airlines World’s 2nd Most Punctual, LATAM #5

Airline analytics and data firm OAG (Official Airline Guide) has released its 2020 airline punctuality ratings, which rate Copa Airlines as the world’s second most punctual with 92.01% of flights arriving within 20 minutes of schedule. Only Garuda Indonesia surpassed this with a 95.01% punctuality rating. LATAM Airlines Group came in #5 in the world, with 86.41% of flights performing on time.

Of the major international carriers flying into Colombia without domestic operations, Iberia came in 11^th with an 84.06% on time performance rating, and US-based Delta was the only major US carrier in the top 20 with 83.56% of flights on time.

Avianca had a 76.63% on-time rating. Viva Air was not included in the rankings. Of the world’s 20 largest carriers LATAM had the best on-time performance.

None of Colombia’s airports ranked for on-time performance. Panamá City’s Tocumen International (PTY), Copa’s home base, was ranked best in the world for on-time performance (92.21%) for medium sized airports.
