Avianca Makes Its Nonstop Cali–Miami Route Permanent
Valle del Cauca regains a year-round nonstop link to Miami
Avianca will make its nonstop route between Cali and Miami permanent beginning December 17, 2026, converting a service it previously operated only on a seasonal basis into a year-round part of its network.
The route will start with daily flights between December 17, 2026 and January 31, 2027, covering the peak travel season. From February 1, 2027, it will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Flight AV38 departs Cali at 10:20 a.m. and arrives in Miami at 2:05 p.m. The return, flight AV39, leaves Miami at 3:35 p.m. and lands in Cali at 7:15 p.m., with each time local to the departing or arriving city. Beginning March 14, 2027, when the United States moves its clocks forward for daylight saving time, the Miami departure and arrival times shift by one hour.
Tickets are already on sale through avianca.com, the airline’s mobile app, its contact center, physical ticket offices and travel agencies.
Ángela María Orozco, senior vice president of corporate affairs at Avianca, framed the change from a seasonal to a permanent route as a response to demand from the region.
“We know how important South Florida is for the people of Valle del Cauca, whether to visit family, to do business or to take vacations.” — Ángela María Orozco, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Avianca
The route carries Avianca’s regional Business Class Americas cabin, with Star Alliance lounge access where available and LifeMiles accrual.
Cali, the capital of Valle del Cauca and Colombia’s third-largest city, has had nonstop service to the United States before; Avianca launched a Cali–Orlando route in 2021. Miami, served by Miami International Airport, is one of the most popular US destinations for Colombian travelers.
Avianca, Colombia’s largest airline, has been privately held since it emerged from a Chapter 11 reorganization in the United States in 2021. It is controlled by Abra Group, the holding company that also owns Brazil’s GOL Linhas Aéreas.
