The Secretary General of the Andean Community of Nations has levied a sanction against two of the largest paper product makers in the region for anti-competitive practices.
Both the U.S.-based Kimberly Clark and Grupo Familia of Medellín will face fines of 4.1% and 3.5% of their subsidiary company sales, respectively, in the Colombian and Ecuadorian markets, according to a report by La Republica.
The violations are linked to actions from 2014 that have been under investigation, Grupo Familia acknowledged in a statement.
The sanctions can be appealed by the companies.
