Ecopetrol Appoints Board of Directors at Shareholder Meeting
At a shareholder meeting today, state-controlled oil company Ecopetrol appointed its board of directors, which typically includes the nation’s finance minister.
In addition to the the high-ranking public official, formally identified by the Bogotá-based company as the “Director of State Shareholdings from the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit,” the other non-independent representative on the board is Claudia Isabel González Sánchez.
The full list of independent representatives is as follows: Mauricio Cabrera Galvis, Jaime Ardila Gómez, Carlos Cure Cure, JoaquÃn Moreno Uribe, Jorge Londoño Saldarriaga, Hernando RamÃrez Plazas (postulated by the oil producing departments in which Ecopetrol operates), and Carlos Gustavo Cano Sanz (postulated by 10 minority shareholders with major shareholding).
At the meeting, Ecopetrol also confirmed the appointment of Ernst & Young Audit S.A.S as the company’s external auditor for the fiscal year of 2018.
