Alleged Russian Hashish Kingpin Captured In Medellín’s Airport
Colombia’s national police announced yesterday the capture of Russian national Vladimir Polyanskiy at the José Maria Córdova International Airport serving Medellín. Polyanskiy is the subject of an Interpol red notice, and is wanted by Russian authorities who accuse him of belonging to a transnational hashish smuggling organization. According to Colombian police, the gang would move the processed marijuana between Spain & Russia, even advertising on internet pages.
On April 4 of this year, Russian judicial police confiscated over 85kg of the drug, hidden in a vehicle belonging to the group. Spain has also been pursuing the group, calling them a “priority objective.”
Polyanskiy is now in the custody of Colombia’s attorney general, who will begin the extradition process, according to a statement by the national police.
