New York PR Agency Weber Shandwick Opens Office in Bogotá

New York-based public relations and marketing agency Weber Shandwick is opening a new office in Bogotá.

The global firm’s stated goal is to further its presence in the Latin American market, where it sees increasing demand for PR services both from Colombian and multinational companies.

This location, which is being opened in partnership with fellow advertising and marketing agency McCann, adds to Weber Shandwick’s already-established offices in Brazil and Mexico as well as affiliates in Argentina, Chile, and Peru

Paula Restrepo, who is joining Weber Shandwick after working as senior vice president in Colombia at global PR firm Edelman, has been tasked with leading firm’s operations in Bogotá as managing director.

“There is new energy in Colombia, and Bogotá is an increasingly sought-after entrance point for both emerging and mature brands to expand into Latin America,” said Restrepo. “At the same time, organizations are navigating new challenges in terms of how customers behave and engage with brands.”
