In light of the new, more rigorous COVID-19 testing requirements for all domestic and international air passengers in Colombia, Low-cost Airline Viva Air is offering its air passengers access to special discounts on the Covid-19 tests now required on all domestic and international flights.

For contact details on each laboratory (in Spanish) click here and select your flight origin.

Available discounts are between 5 and 30%, depending on the laboratory. Colombian citizens and residents enrolled in one of the country’s health systems should also check with their provider as some offer free pre-travel testing. For the Viva discount program, passengers must make a prior appointment with their chosen laboratory and present the Viva boarding pass or their purchase invoice to obtain the special benefits.

The participating laboratories in Colombia are Aerosanidad, Idime, Laboratorio Lorena Vejarano and Centrolab. In Peru, it is Inbiomedic, and in the United States it is US Biotek.

Passengers should be aware that the airline does not set testing requirements or travel restrictions but follows applicable health mandates in each jurisdiction. Each laboratory is independently responsible for its own testing procedures.

“At Viva we are constantly innovating to find new ways to ensure the safety and well-being of our passengers, that is why we are announcing alliances with national and international laboratories so that the traveler can continue to connect with the region with peace of mind, confidence and always at the right times, at the best rates on the market, said Catalina Rendón, Viva’s Vice President of Communications & Customer Experience.

“Likewise, to adapt to this new way of flying and join in the economic reactivation process, we strengthened all our biosafety protocols and became the first airline in Colombia to obtain the certification of ‘Biosafety Operations’ by ICONTEC, in addition to the seal quality ‘Check In Certificate’ and the international ‘Safe Travels’. This positions us as a reliable and safe airline to fly.”
