Sophia was the star of Andicom 2018, taking the stage to discuss artificial intelligence's impact on business and society.

The center was founded by the Medellín Chamber of Commerce, CINTEL, and the CREAME Business Incubator.

Sophia the Robot made her second appearance in as many months in Colombia, this time making her Cartagena debut during Andicom 2018.

Health and fitness startup Fitpal won the award for digital entrepreneur of the year. Réditos Empresariales took home the prize in the large company category.

Bancolombia, Boxi Sleep, 1DOC3, and Wikiwomen took home the honors in 2017, the first time the awards were handed out by CINTEL and PWC.

President Duque will kick things off on Wednesday morning and then robot citizen Sophia will bookend the three-day conference with a closing keynote address on Friday afternoon.

Sophia will speak during an event at Pontificia Bolivariana University for her debut appearance in South America.

Speakers will include Edgar Helou of Google, Marco Casarín of Microsoft, and Luis Enrique Arce of PwC.

Boxi Sleep, 1DOC3 and WikiMujeres also won prizes for digital transformation in various other categories.

"Currently, the IT industry in Colombia is living great times. Companies have evolved," says David Luna, ICT Minister of Colombia.
