According to an announcement made at the Global Business Travel Association Convention on Sunday, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is building two new Radisson Blu hotels in Colombia, making this the Radisson Blu brand’s first foray into Latin America, along with its renovation of the Radisson Petra La Dehesa Hotel in Chile’s capital, rebranding it as the Radisson Blu Santiago. The new Colombian hotels will be in the Caribbean coastal city of Santa Marta, and the resort Caribbean island of San Andres.
The Radisson Blu at Santa Marta Resort & Spa is slated to open in 2017, and will feature a rooftop bar, three restaurants, and 17,000 square feet of internet-included meeting space, along with a gymnasium and spa. The ballroom can handle up to 800 guests. The hotel is targeted to both business and vacation travelers. It will be located 6 miles from the airport, and 4 miles from downtown Santa Marta. The 191 rooms will include six suites, and 60 balconies.

Internet is included. The swimming pool has 27 meter lap lanes for serious swimmers or exercisers, but connects to a recreational pool and 18 meter float river that passes by the pool bar.
