Radisson Blu Opening New Hotels In Santa Marta & San Andres
According to an announcement made at the Global Business Travel Association Convention on Sunday, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is building two new Radisson Blu hotels in Colombia, making this the Radisson Blu brand’s first foray into Latin America, along with its renovation of the Radisson Petra La Dehesa Hotel in Chile’s capital, rebranding it as the Radisson Blu Santiago. The new Colombian hotels will be in the Caribbean coastal city of Santa Marta, and the resort Caribbean island of San Andres.
The Radisson Blu at Santa Marta Resort & Spa is slated to open in 2017, and will feature a rooftop bar, three restaurants, and 17,000 square feet of internet-included meeting space, along with a gymnasium and spa. The ballroom can handle up to 800 guests. The hotel is targeted to both business and vacation travelers. It will be located 6 miles from the airport, and 4 miles from downtown Santa Marta. The 191 rooms will include six suites, and 60 balconies.
The Radisson Blu San Andrés Resort & Spa will be a beachfront hotel opening in the Q1 2016, and will feature 77 guest rooms including 34 suites, each with its own individual plunge pool, two restaurants, spa, gymnasium, and several bars, including a 3rd floor terrace restaurant. Internet is included. The swimming pool has 27 meter lap lanes for serious swimmers or exercisers, but connects to a recreational pool and 18 meter float river that passes by the pool bar.

The Radisson Blu brand is part of the Minneapolis, Minnesota based Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, operating approximately 1.370 hotels in 110 countries, with 180,000 rooms. The Radissson Blu brand consists of 280 hotels in 62 countries, primarily operating in global capitals like Basel, Stockholm, Beijing, and Dubai.
