More Than 12,500 Visit Expodefensa 2017 Security Conference in Bogotá
Attendance figures were up by around 20% this year at Expodefensa 2017 conference in Bogotá, where more than 12,500 attended Colombia’s marquee defense and security event.
The sixth edition of the annual conference, which is operated by Coges International, was held in the capital’s Corferias convention center from December 4-6, featuring an array of products, services, and technological solutions from 269 exhibitors for the defense and security sector.
The fair also included an academic program that delved into topics including cyber-espionage, peace-keeping operations, land defense systems, and terrorism threats in aviation.
Gen. Julio Alberto González Ruiz, manager of Codaltec, one of the exhibiting companies, said this was the most traffic he has seen at the event and means that they will have to work to improve for the 2018 edition. “The participation of companies has exceeded expectations, and the countries and delegations that were here expressed satisfaction due to exponential international growth,” said Gen. González.
Overall, Expodefensa 2017 registered 6% more international exhibitors compared to last year. Armando Castillo Builes, director of marketing and sales for Fabricato, another exhibitor, said that he met with 15 international attendees in part due to assistance with ProColombia, the nation’s leading export promotion agency.
