Ecopetrol Promotes José Cotello to President of Brazilian Subsidiary
Colombian petroleum producer Ecopetrol S.A. has announced that José Cotello, who had been serving as Regional Vice President Orinoquía (VRO) since 2015, was appointed as President of the Ecopetrol subsidiary in Brazil and will assume his new functions as of April 1, 2019.
The executive is an electronic engineer and has more than 30 years of experience in the oil industry.
He previously served as Executive Director and COO at Petra Brasil and held several positions at Schlumberger, including: VP Quality Business Systems, Vice President of IPM Latin America Unit, Vice President of HSE Paris, Wireline Personnel Manager for North and South America and Manager of Wireline Brasil.
Replacing Cotello in the regional vice-presidency is the engineer José Darío Parra Vega, manager of the production field Castilla, in Meta.
Likewise, the Company expressed its gratitude to outgoing President Joao Guilherme Clark Filho, who was in charge of Ecopetrol Brasil since 2011.
