Economist Carlos Alberto Ruiz Appointed Colombia’s Vice Minister of Housing
Minvivienda, Colombia’s ministry of housing has announced that 28 year old macroeconomics profesor Carlos Alberto Ruiz Martinez has been named the vice-minister in charge of housing for Colombia. Ruiz is an economist at Universidad Nacional (National University) and holds a masters degree in public administration from Columbia University in New York, an masters in economic science, a masters in banking and financial markets, and a masters in corporate finance.
Originally from Ibagué, Tolima, Ruiz was most recently the chairman of the board of directos for Colombia’s “Fondo Nacional del Ahorro (National Savings Fund), and advisor to the ministry of housing. Ruiz was also in charge of economic studies for banking industry trade group Asobancaria, and an analyst for Fedesarollo.
