Bancolombia Launches First Banking App For Windows Phone In Colombia
Users of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 who hold accounts at Bancolombia may now take advantage of the Bancolombia App for Windows Phone. The application has been downloaded over 18,000 times, and was designed by the bank to allow users to interact with the institution in a streamlined, secure way.
“We are the bank with the most customers in Colombia, and many of them use Windows. For that reason, we moved to include that population in our development of this first class financial solution,” said Juan Diego Agudelo, Bancolombia’s manager of mobile strategy.
The app allows users to make transfers between accounts, pay utilities and other bills, check balances, and several other transactions. It also comes with a branch, correspondent, and ATM locator. It provides news, financial indicators, and the capability to chat directly with a banking agent. There is a security module that allows users to put their accounts on lockdown in case of identity theft, a lost wallet, or even possibly a “paseo milionario” mugging incident, that fortunately is becoming more and more rare in Colombia.
“In this month, there have already been more than 270,000 transactions through the Windows app, and we hope that as more people download it, we can continue putting these innovative solutions in the hands of our clients,” said Agudelo.
