Avianca to Launch Direct Flight from Bogotá to Chicago on November 17
Avianca has launched a new fight from Bogotá to Chicago that will make its first trip on November 17. Once it begins, this will be the only direct flight operating between these two major cities in the Americas.
The route will be operated by an Airbus A319 aircraft with a capacity of 120 passengers and make the roundtrip four times each week, the Bogotá-based airline said in a statement. The plane will include 12 business class seats.
Tickets are already on sale for fall flights between El Dorado International Airport in the Colombian capital and Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
The flight will depart Bogotá every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 2:58 pm local time with an estimated arrival time in Chicago at 8:38 pm. It will depart for the return leg as a redeye on the same evening at 10:01 pm and touch down back in Colombia at 5:51 am.

This new route will begin operating just one day after Avianca inaugurates a new flight between Bogotá and Munich on November 16. The German city will be the fourth location — in addition to Madrid, Barcelona, and London — that the Colombian airline flies to directly in Europe from Bogotá.
