Arajet Launches Additional Connectivity Between Colombia & The Dominican Republic
During the Vitrina Turistica event in Bogotá organized by Colombian travel industry trade association ANATO on February 22, Dominican low-cost airline Arajet accompanied by the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism, announced new flights between Santiago, Dominican Republic and Colombia. Arajet will offer two weekly frequencies from Cibao International Airport to and from El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, Colombia.
Dominican Tourism Minister David Collado pointed out that “Arajet’s flight from Santiago to Bogotá is the first achievement of the Dominican Republic at ANATO 2023,” and that it comes to strengthen the strategy “Tourism in Every Corner” strategy presented at the ANATO 2023, which featured the Dominican Republic as guest of honor, and with the city of Santiago de los 30 Caballeros (Dominican Republic) as the main tourist subject of promotion.
Víctor Pacheco Méndez, The CEO and founder of Arajet, pointed out that very soon they will reveal the details about the new frequencies and schedule and assured that “one of the fundamental objectives of Arajet is to support the projection of the country to attract more tourists, and two weekly frequencies from Santiago confirm the value that the Heart of The Dominican Republic and the Cibaeños (people from the Dominican Republic’s central highlands) have for Arajet, that very soon they will be able to arrive directly in Colombia, a country in which we operate the most destinations, and which has become one of the main countries of origin of tourists to the Dominican Republic.”
José Clase, vice president of Cibao International Airport, said that “Arajet will have all the facilities at the airport and the support of the city of Santiago to achieve the success of this operation.”
