Former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, 2 Sons Are Infected With Coronavirus COVID-2

Major Colombian media outlets are confirming today that one day after being detained in house arrest by Colombia’s supreme court on charges of witness tampering, former president and current senator and head of the Centro Democratico political party Alvaro Uribe is infected with the COVID-2 Coronavirus, that leads to the COVID-19 disease.

This morning, an ambulance was seen entering his “EL Ubérrimo” ranch in the Córdoba department of Colombia. According to Medellín based El Colombiano, that ambulance carried a team of COVID-19 medical specialists carrying oxygen in to treat Uribe for the illness.

According to Bogotá daily El Tiempo, Uribe’s sons Jerónimo and Tomás are also infected with the virus. El Tiempo says the former president is asymptomatic and not showing signs of the COVID 19 illness, but is worried about the health of his wife.

The senator is said to be in isolation at his El Ubérrimo ranch in Córdoba without the rest of his family, who may be at his residence outside of Medellín in Rionegro, Colombia, near where Medellín’s international airport is located.
