Hilton Worldwide (NYSE: HLT) has announced the signing of two franchise agreements to convert two Cosmos hotels in Bogotá into DoubleTree by Hilton properties, bringing the brand into Colombia for the first time. DoubleTree by Hilton Bogotá Parque 93 and DoubleTree by Hilton Bogotá Calle 100 are expected to open in December 2015 and February 2016, respectively. Both hotels will be operated by current owner, Cosmos Hotels.

“International travel to Colombia has continued to increase over the past few years and we are excited to bring the DoubleTree by Hilton brand to serve this booming market,” said Ted Middleton, senior vice president, development, Latin America, Hilton Worldwide. “These two signings in Colombia underscore Hilton Worldwide’s strategy to serve any guest for any trip occasion anywhere in the world.”

The 132-room Cosmos Insignia Hotel will be converted into a 132-room DoubleTree by Hilton Bogotá Parque 93, located in the center of Bogotá’s Chicó neighborhood, near restaurants, cafés and bars of Parque 93. The hotel will feature the restaurant Agata, a Lobby Lounge and an executive lounge with bar service.

Tower C of the Hotel & Convention Centre Cosmos 100 will be converted into an 88-room DoubleTree by Hilton Bogotá Calle 100, located on one of the city’s primary north end business arteries, near major international business offices. The hotel will feature a lobby lounge and restaurant and will benefit from direct access to the Cosmos 100 meeting and event space.

“We are excited to welcome the DoubleTree by Hilton brand to our portfolio of four and five-star hotels throughout the country,” said Ricardo Cajiao, Chairman of the Board of Cosmos Group. “DoubleTree by Hilton’s award-winning service culture for which the brand is globally known is synonymous with Hoteles Cosmos’ philosophy of delivering the perfect blend of service, understated luxury and quiet efficiency.”

Guest rooms will feature a broad range of modern furnishings and amenities, including an assortment of gourmet in-room tea and coffee choices from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, the Aroma Actives natural skin and body care line and a globally-recognized service culture built on the idea of “CARE,” which stands for creating a rewarding experience for guests, team members and the community. WiFi is complementary throughout the hotel’s public areas and guest rooms, and the hotels feature a 24-hour business center, 24-hour fitness center, and airport shuttle. The hotels will also participate in the Hilton HHonors rewards program.

“Bogotá’s geographic location and international airport, which has direct global flights from over 50 destinations, making it the northern hub for South America, have enabled the city to grow as a business hub and an ideal place for guests seeking the upscale, full-service experience that only DoubleTree by Hilton can deliver,” said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “We look forward to welcoming guests to these new properties, starting with the signature warm chocolate chip cookie greeting at check-in and continuing through every touch point of our guests’ stay.”
