UruIT Celebrates Its Expansion Into Bogotá, Where The IT Outsourcer Is Actively Hiring Developers

Montevideo, Uruguay based IT software outsourcing firm UruIT continues its growth, opening offices in Colombia’s capital of Bogotá; this after expanding into the Andean nation with Medellín offices in 2016. Primarily serving North American corporate clients from sales offices in Los Angeles and Miami, UruIT already has 30 employees in the Medellín suburb of Envigado.

“We opened in 2016 in Medellín’s Ruta-N. But after two years we already outgrew that space, and moved to our current Envigado location. Now, we are winning new clients, which is driving our growth,” says UruIT’s Colombia head Marcelo Martinez. “Our urgent need for talent means we really need to tap into Bogotá’s large population base.”

Martinez maintains that Medellín is still an excellent location and their country’s home base, but client work is driving the 12 year old company’s impressive growth. Some of them are part of our team today, while others aren’t, mainly because they couldn’t move to Medellín. From our experience, we realized that there are great profiles in Bogotá with strong skills in English and technical areas we’re interested in, such as Data Engineering, UX, Devops, and Machine Learning,” says Martinez,
