The expansion has included new stores in Cartagena and Barranquilla on the Caribbean coast in addition to the October launch of a location in Bogotá's Andino mall.

Though Los Andes continues to excel, the nation’s other institutions continue to lag behind many of their regional peers in the rankings.

The partnership creates a shared distribution network in the Americas and will allow Tecnoglass to manufacture and sell Schüco-branded products.

The payment will be made to all Tecnogloass shareholders of record at the close of business on October 26.

This represents an uptick from the 8.7% rate registered in June 2017. The overall second quarter unemployment rate this year was 9.4%

The dividend will be paid to all shareholders as the close of business on June 29.

The remaining $29 million USD payment was made last week with $6 million USD in cash, $13 million USD in stock, and a $10 million USD note.

"We have spent more than $250 million USD investing in strategic areas of our business," says Tecnoglass CFO Santiago Giraldo.

Colombia has previously hosted the event four times over the past six decades, mostly recently in 2009 in Medellín.
