Amaris manager Sara Mondragón highlighted Medellín's "innovative and challenging environment" as a key reason to expand into Colombia.

“We want AI to be a new source of high-quality jobs and income for our people," said Elkin Echeverri, director of planning and prospective at Ruta N.

"It was critical to implement a solution that went beyond regulatory requirements," said Luis Santiago Perdomo Maldonado, CEO of Banco Colpatria.

“Medellín has stood out as a pacesetter, not only in Colombia but in Latin America," said Natalia Martínez-Kalínina of the Cambridge Innovation Center.

“Having Huawei right here in Medellin is not just something that happens every day. On the contrary, it is a vote of confidence in the city.”

The relationship between Medellín and Fort Lauderdale dates back to 1961, and the cities' mayors recently gathered to commemorate their friendship.

"This service business is going to be the new starting point that will make Medellín a more modern, more digital, less polluted city," says Sergio Escobar of ACI Medellín.

In a tradition that dates back to 2004, the mayor of Medellín has invited the international community to hear about its city's development plan firsthand.
