In Time For Valentines Day Flower Shipments, Avianca Adds Temperature Controlled 5th Airbus A-330-F
In line with its plan to expand and strengthen its presence in markets with a high demand in the transport of goods and merchandise, Avianca Cargo has incorporated its fifth Airbus A-330 aircraft exclusively for freight.
The addition of this new aircraft allows Avianca Cargo to increase capacity on the routes with the highest demand for perishable goods by 65 tons. This is possible thanks to the advanced compartment temperature control technology installed in the holds of the A330F.
The aircraft, registered with plate N335QT, will be assigned to routes within the Andean region, and between Medellín, Bogotá, Quito and destinations abroad. It will be especially useful to points with high demand for flowers in the US and Europe. “The goal is to offer a quality service in the shipment of perishable products as we increase our participation in freight markets in South America,” said Victor Mejia, Avianca´s Vice President of Freight.
With the commissioning of this new A330F, Avianca advances in the standardization of its cargo fleet, which will allow it to optimize its freighter operation, given the standardization of the maintenance processes, the flexibility in scheduling crews and the adoption of unified parameters in loading and unloading.
Avianca Cargo is the trade name of Tampa Cargo, a member airline of Avianca Holdings S.A., dedicated to air cargo, using both the passenger planes that make up the Avianca fleet as well as exclusive aircraft for the transport of goods and cargo, with which it covers 100 destinations in 26 countries in America and Europe.
