Disruption in ACH Colombia’s Online Payment System Provokes Financial Regulator Intervention
Today, Colombia’s financial sector regulator chastised ACH Colombia S.A. for a disruption in its online payment system. The Financial Superintendency, or Superfinanceria, ordered that the firm must formally report the outage and inform the agency about alternative channels that can be used to ensure extended disruptions don’t affect users.
The disruption occurred in the financial company’s PSE service — Pagos Seguros en Línea — that serves as the platform many companies in Colombia use to facilitate the online transactions made by their customers. Though the company boasts of the system’s “agility and efficiency,” many find it anything but. Problems are routine and recurring.
After today’s issues, which started at 12:30 am, Superfinanceria said it will continue to monitor the situation in search of a solution.
