Earlier this month, U.S. banking giant Citi began allowing its cardholders to transfer their reward points for Avianca’s frequent flyer miles program.
Called “ThankYou Points,” these Citi benefits can now be transferred one-for-one in exchange for the Bogotá-based airline’s LifeMiles, which can be redeemed throughout the Star Alliance network that Avianca belongs to.
“LifeMiles is a great currency to hold, even for those who live outside of Latin America,” said Matt Vincett, CEO of LifeMiles. He also noted that Avianca’s frequent flyer program has been named as having the “Best Redemption Ability” by Global Traveler magazine for “four successive years running.”
