Bogotá Design Festival Returns March 1-5
Various locations throughout the north side of Bogotá will host events that together make up the second annual Bogotá Design Festival, to take place from March 1-5. The free event seeks to connect citizens and visitors of Colombia with design and innovation, also to contribute to the cultural, creative, and professional growth of the country’s capital.
Roughly 45 cities throughout the world replicate the Design Festival model, which started in 2003 with the London Design Festival. One of this year’s strategic allies is the Embassy of Spain, via its cultural, economic, and commerce councils. Spain will be hosting cultural, commercial, and academic events, and from 5pm to 11pm each night, national and international businesses will open their doors to the public at no charge, showing off exhibits and design achievements.
Last year, the 2015 event garnered more than 4,600 visitors from within Colombia and abroad, and this year promises to have aspects that will please, businesspeople, entrepreneurs, designers, students, and the general public. All are invited to share, learn and connect via design and creativity in its various manifestations, be they industrial, graphic, artistic, culinary, interior, or fashion.
