Avianca Partners With Train Operators in London to Allow Passengers to Make U.K. Connections by Railway
Avianca has reached an agreement with two train operators in the United Kingdom to offer passengers the option of connecting via railway to multiple destinations in England in Wales. The partnership, with Great Western Railway (GWR) and Heathrow Express, allows those who fly on Avianca from Bogotá to London to continue on from Heathrow Airport to Paddington Station for no cost.
After that 20-mile trip on Heathrow Express, passengers can catch the GWR train and continue on to the following locations: Bath, Bristol Parkway, Bristol Temple Meads, Cardiff, Exeter, Newport, Oxford, Penzance, Plymouth, St. Austell, Swansea, and Swindon.
When arranged in advance, the train tickets are included in the airfare. Passengers can currently choose this option by contacting the Avianca call center or using a travel agency. This service is also “coming soon” to Avianca.com, says the airline.
Avianca, the largest airline in Colombia, already has a similar arrangement set up with British bus company National Express. It operates seven flights per week between Bogotá and London.
