Avianca to Launch Daily Direct Flight from Bogotá to Santa Cruz, Bolivia in November

Avianca (NYSE: AVH), Colombia’s largest airline, will launch a new direct flight between Bogotá and Santa Cruz, Bolivia, on November 22.

The route to Santa Cruz is Avianca’s second connecting Colombia in Bolivia. The carrier also operates a daily flight between Bogotá and La Paz.

“Our country continues to be important for international connectivity in the South American region and therefore as a tourist and business destination,” said Edmundo Polo Ariñez, the Bolivian ambassador to Colombia.

In addition to better connecting the two Andean nations, Avianca noted that Bolivians will now have an additional option to reach many destinations in North America, Europe, and the Caribbean with just one stopover in Colombia.

The carrier also offers two flights per day between Peru and Bolivia, connecting Lima to both La Paz and Santa Cruz.

“The start of this direct route constitutes another step in strengthening of Avianca,” said Hernán Rincón, executive president of Avianca.
