Frontera Energy plans to drill between 40 to 50 wells in the first quarter of 2018.

The Canadian oil company's operations in the country are now held by the Colombian branch of Meta Petroleum Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary.

Eduardo Almeida says that, in Rionegro, "we are expanding based on the contracts we have closed recently with some customers."

The Santiago-based airline expects to transport some 33,000 people on this route per year.

“Our partnership with Convexus is a key factor in expanding our investment in Latin America going forward,” said Yaron Hertz of NICE.

For Canada, Colombia represents the smallest partner of the four nations at just $1.2 billion USD in trade last year.

The recertification formally authorizes the level of standards and availability offered at the company’s data center in Bogotá.

Last July, the IMF forecasted Colombia's GDP to grow by 3.0% in 2017. In October, that figure fell to 2.7% then, in April, it was cut again to 2.3%. Now it sits at 2.0%.

While the rest of Latin America is going one way, Colombia is still lagging behind. Only Ecuador, with a 6.1% drop in the first quarter, performed worse.
