Legislators are elected this weekend, but so are primary candidates for the May 31 Colombian presidential election.

Perhaps the biggest concern is the perception of mixed messages between President Petro and Finance Minister Ocampo.

Things can get worse, much worse. But as Duque’s four year term comes towards a close, there is a practical consensus in Colombia that things could have been much better.

Duque is down 20 points from the 47% approval rating he garnered in the previous poll toward the end of October.

Former Bogotá mayor Gustavo Petro and former Antioquia governor Sergio Fajardo received support from around 45% of those surveyed.
