After a series of fits and stops that threatened to derail a historic year, Colombia may finally be peace.

This time, Santos will send the agreement to Congress for ratification and skip the public vote.

"This agreement — renewed, adjusted, specified, and clarified — must unite us, not divide us," said President Juan Manuel Santos.

"I accept it, not in my own name, but in the name of all Colombians, especially the millions of victims," said President Santos.
