Atico Mining's El Roble mine production for the third quarter 2020 totaled 5.55 million pounds of copper and 2,487 ounces of gold in concentrates, a decrease of 3% for copper and 25% for gold over the same period in 2019.

El Roble mine production in Chocó, Colombia for the quarter totaled 4.93 million pounds of copper and 2,736 ounces of gold in concentrates, an increase of 108% and 85% for copper and gold, respectively, over the same period in 2019.

"Ecopetrol emphatically rejects these illegal actions," said the oil company.

The oil spill has threatened a nearby stream that feeds into an aqueduct relied upon by some 3,500 locals in Guamalito.

The prolonged shutdown has cost Colombia some 893,000 barrels of production, according to Ecopetrol.
