Pro-Palestinian Protests Expected Across Colombia Monday, October 7th 2024

The US Embassy has issued an advisory saying that Pro-Palestinian demonstrations are expected to take place on October 7, 2024 across Colombia.  The demonstration in Bogota is expected to take place in front of the U.S. Embassy beginning at 10:00am. Additional protests may occur in other areas and cities throughout the day, including Cali, Medellín, Bucaramanga and Manizales.

This demonstration may affect gate and street access to the Embassy.

Actions for foreign individuals to take, according to the US State Department:

• Avoid demonstrations
• Exercise caution if you are coming to the Embassy
• Stay alert
• Be aware of your surroundings and belongings
• Monitor local media for updates
