Hilton Opens New Doubletree In Bogotá Near Airport, Convention Centers

Hilton Hotels (NYSE: HLT) last week announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Bogotá Salitre AR, a 199-room hotel in Bogotá’s Salitre area near the El Dorado International Airport. Run by Colombian hotel operator Grupo AR, the renovated hotel is the latest addition to the growing DoubleTree by Hilton portfolio, one of Hilton’s 17 global brands.

DoubleTree by Hilton Bogotá Salitre AR is situated near many popular Bogotá destinations along the Avenida El Dorado corridor and convention center district close to such venues as Corferias Convention Center and Agorá Convention Center, as well as nearby attractions, such as Simón Bolívar Metropolitan Park, Movistar Arena, the Gold Museum, the Gran Estaciòn shopping center, the United States Embassy and El Dorado International Airport.

Rooms and Amenities

The 199 contemporary guest rooms offer scenic views of the city and surrounding mountain ranges. The rooms are equipped with modern amenities and feature Sweet Dreams by DoubleTree bedding, 55” LCD televisions, spacious bathrooms and signature bath products. The property also features indoor Jacuzzis in select suites.

The property offers a 24-hour fitness center, executive lounge, beauty salon and a spa, which also features a Hydro Circuit including:

• Spa pool equipped with bubble volcanoes, cascading jets, oxygenation beds and a Jacuzzi
• Showers with various pressure levels and temperatures
• Footpath treatment with stone path and a river edge
• Flotarium water capsule with Epsom salts, which simulates the density of the Dead Sea

Dining

Guests can dine on-property at Ka Restaurant, which offers gourmet international and Colombian cuisine. Travelers can mingle over specialty drinks and appetizers at the bar, before heading to a table to enjoy signature dishes created by Executive Chef Jorge Velez — from salmon tartare with Greek yogurt, caper bumblebees and oriental sauce, to chicken supreme with crispy banana, cape gooseberry sauce and wild rice.

Meetings & Events

For meetings and events, DoubleTree by Hilton Bogotá Salitre AR offers over 11,000 square feet of flexible space. The 12 meeting rooms range in size from a small conference room to expansive ballrooms with a total capacity of 600 guests.

Hilton currently has a portfolio of more than 150 hotels and resorts in 23 countries across the Caribbean and Latin America, with 20 hotels in Colombia. The company is actively pursuing additional growth opportunities and currently has a development pipeline of approximately 95 hotels throughout the region and Hilton has said it plans to add five new properties within the next five years in Colombia.
