Bezant Resources Finalizes Gold and Platinum Licenses in Western Colombia

U.K. gold and platinum company Bezant Resources PLC has finalized its payments to acquire precious metal licenses in the department of Chocó in Colombia, the company announced this week.

With a final $200,000 USD payment, the company now holds an alluvial platinum license (FKJ-083) and gold license (HCA-082) in an area that covers 2,659 hectares in western Colombia. The licenses are held through Ulloa Recursos Naturales SAS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bezant Resources.

However,“following test pitting and sampling,” the metals company said that it has declined to “exercise its remaining option” over an additional license (HGE-082). Bezant Resources credited the better potential of the other locations as its reason to pass on HGE-082.

“Following our extensive extraction work completed on FKJ-083, grade testing results and completion of the option exercise, the company now owns a significant land package within the Chocó gold-platinum region,” said Edward Nealon, non-executive chairman of Bezant Resources.

He added that the company is also pursuing asset-level development and funding for its entire gold and platinum production portfolio in Colombia. “It is expected that completion of the option exercise will assist us with this strategy,” said Nealon.
