The foreign ministry issued the following statement:

The Colombian Embassy in Japan learned that a Colombian citizen was on board the vessel as part of the crew. As soon as the situation was known, the relevant inquiries began with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and with the company Princess Cruises.

The Embassy has been in permanent contact with the national and provides assistance that he may require. Today it was learned from the Embassy that the Coronavirus test (COVID-19) that was carried out on the ship was positive and that the Colombian will be landed as a precaution, following local medical protocols.

To date, there is no record of any other Colombian citizen in Japan in a situation related to Coronavirus (COVID-19).
