During the Chocoshow held at the Corferias Convention Center in Bogotá, Vice Minister of Foreign Trade Laura Valdivieso Jiménez (above photo) announced that Colombia has grown from 17 cacao exporters in 2014 to 25 in 2019, and that the country’s cacao exports now reach over 40 countries, amounting to $78.7 million USD in foreign trade.

“We want to convert Colombia into a grand producer and exporter of cacao, and to reach this goal we are working hand in hand between the government and the private sector,” said Valdivieso.

The Cacao fruit is the raw material of chocolate and cocoa.
