Successful F2R Motorcycle Convention Gathered 80,000 Visitors in Medellín
The 15th edition of the Colombian’s largest commercial motorcycle event, F2R, or Feria de las 2 Ruedas (2-Wheel Fair), welcomed more than 80,000 visitors to Medellín and helped facilitate the sale of some 850 motorcycles — a large success for the annual gathering that continues to grow by the year.
This was a significant jump over the 60,000 visitors that F2R expected in 2022, which was the first in-person annual event for the organization after a two-year hiatus due to covid pandemic prevention protocols and domestic lockdowns.
More than 450 exhibitors attended the four-day event from May 4-7 in the Plaza Mayor and collectively brought in some 24 tons of merchandise for sale from countries including the guest country India, the United States, China, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Panama, and Venezuela, according to the organization.
F2R reported that at least 23 products were launched during the Feria de las 2 Ruedas in addition and 37 academic events — including the VIII National Symposium of Biker Clubs, the IX Women’s Biker Forum, and the V Motorcycle Mechanics Update Seminar — that were attended by more than 1,400 people.
Another 30 cultural events and shows were also hosted by brands and organizations in attendance — such as flatland, stunt, strider, bike trial, and gymkhana — and more than 2,800 test drives on the Test Drive track, where motorcycle lovers were able to test drive their favorite vehicles.
According to event organizers, the F2R was once again a revenue generator for the city, bringing in millions of dollars of economic benefit, thousands indirect jobs, and an uptick in hotel occupancy.
Next year’s annual convention will take place in Medellín from May 2–5, 2024.
